Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do BCA students graduate with?
    • Briercrest Christian Academy students graduate with a Saskatchewan High School Diploma.

  • I plan to apply to live in the dorms, do I have to have a roommate? How are roommates chosen?
    • If it is your first year in dorms at BCA, you should expect to have a roommate. Senior dorm students in grade 12 are given priority for having their own room and we cannot accommodate everyone. Plus, there are some benefits for our new students having roommates such as the opportunity for our new students to connect with their peers quickly and to learn valuable skills in living life alongside other people.

  • When should I apply? Is there an application deadline?
    • BCA accepts applications through the summer, but to maximize your opportunities to see campus, attend events, and qualify for scholarships we recommend applying before May of the applying year.

  • Do I have to visit campus before applying to or attending BCA?
    • While it is not a requirement to visit campus, we strongly recommend you check out the campus in person before the school year starts! It’s a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the school and to ask all of your questions. To plan a personal visit or register for an event, head to our Visit Briercrest Christian Academy page.

  • English is my second language; can I attend BCA?
    • BCA requires students to have an intermediate level of English to be accepted as a student. All students whose first language or primary language is other than English are required to take an English placement exam.

  • What is required in a complete application to BCA?
    • To complete your application, you’ll need to have the following completed:

      1. Primary Application
      2. Reference Forms
        1. Student Reference
        2. Parent Reference
        3. Spiritual Reference
        4. Academic Reference
      3. Supplemental Documents
        1. Birth Certificate or Passport Photo
        2. Report Card
        3. IIP’s if applicable
        4. Proof of Saskatchewan Residency (for Saskatchewan Residents only)
      4. BCA Admissions Interview

  • When are admissions decisions made?
    • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. As soon as an application is complete, it will undergo the review process and applicants will receive admissions decisions within 2-4 weeks.

  • I forgot my password to the application portal, what do I do?
    • If you forget your password, feel free to select the “forgot my password” link on the login page. This will send a prompt to your email to set a new password. Just note that you can only change your password once every 24 hours.

  • I submitted reference information on my application, why is the requirement on my application still incomplete?
    • Great question! This requirement will remain incomplete until your reference completes the form. Once your reference completes the form, the requirement will change to a checkmark on your application checklist.

  • How do I prepare for my admissions interview? Can my parents sit in?
    • The best way to prepare for your interview is to read over the questions and Student Life Code ahead of time, and to be yourself! The primary goal of the interview is to get to know you and your family better and to help you and your family understand what BCA is better. We’d love for your parents to participate as well.

  • Will I get charged the Saskatchewan Resident tuition rate or the Canadian Resident (Non-SK) Tuition Rate?
    • This is determined by one simple question: During the school year in which you are attending BCA, will one or both of your parents be an official Saskatchewan Resident?

      • Yes –> Saskatchewan Resident Tuition Rate
      • No –> Canadian Resident (Non-SK) Tuition Rate

The provincial Ministry of Education requires proof of Saskatchewan residency.
Saskatchewan residency will be determined for each student by your parent’s physical address as provided in the application process. The physical address is verified by submitting two forms of proof.

      • Accepted items of proof: lease or rental agreement, utility bill, municipal tax notice, or driver’s license indicating the physical address provided in the application process.

The deadline to claim Saskatchewan residency is September 25th of each year. No exceptions will be made.
