BCA alumnus first Canadian to win prestigious award
Briercrest Christian Academy graduate Nat Banting ('05) has been awarded the Rosenthal Prize for Innovation and Inspiration in Math Teaching from the National Museum of Mathematics in New York.
His winning lesson, which required grade 8 students to predict the outcome of dice rolls, was heralded by the museum as “the most innovative, unique and interesting project for students."
The first Canadian to win, Nat flew to New York City on January 8 to receive his award. The teacher used his platform to celebrate teachers everywhere, telling CTV News Saskatoon, “Teachers go above and beyond like this all the time. This is not an anomaly, like some random math teacher in Saskatoon decided to take on a passion project, teachers are doing this constantly.” Congratulations, Nat!
